2018 Volkswagen T-Roc teaser released ahead of its official debut

KUALA LUMPUR: 2018 Volkswagen T-Roc is set to make its official debut on August 23. But, before it is officially revealed, Volkswagen has released a teaser of its B-segment crossover which depicts the journey of its evolution from sketch to the final product. The video has also highlighted the full-scale clay model of the car along with Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, which is incorporated in the upcoming T-Roc. The 2018 T-Roc will also be featuring the full LCD instrument that was first used in the Arteon four-door coupe concept.

2018 Volkswagen T-Roc is also based on the new platform, MQB, which also underpins the Audi A3, second-generation Volkswagen Tiguan, and the all-new VW Polo. Along with a range of turbocharged gas and diesel engines, a plug-in hybrid is also likely to be included in the lineup. The upcoming crossover will be positioned below the Tiguan and serve as the entry-level crossover offering of VW.

Though the official dimensions of the car are not revealed, it is expected that the production version shares the same figures as the concept. If the figures are close to the concept version then the car will be in the segment where Ford EcoSport and Nissan Juke have been competing for the leading position for quite a long time. Volkswagen has also kept the name unchanged and the production version will have the same tagging as the concept.

For now, the manufacturer has not revealed much information about 2018 T-Roc and if everything is according to the schedule then the crossover will make its debut in the market by this October along with the next-generation Polo Notch.

In addition, a completely redesigned Jetta is also expected to make its entry by this December. Let’s see how the new crossover in the B-segment changes things with its entry in the global market.
