2019 Mazda 3 images out ahead of the LA Motor Show

KUALA LUMPUR: The automobile world has been eagerly waiting for the all-new 2019 Mazda 3. First showcased as the Kai Concept, the Mazda 3 will finally be premièred at the 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show. Adding to the excitement, some official photographs of the much-anticipated car have hit the internet. The photographs are reminiscent of the concept, which, indeed, increases the turmoil.

The car from the front looks mean, sharp, and bold. The grille placed above the lip sits right between the lank headlights. The Mazda logo has been positioned at the upper half of the grille. The “vortex effect” is very much visible on the car which has come in at the cost of the bold and sharp lines. However, even without the conventional linings, the 2019 Mazda 3 looks amazing, to say the least.

The prominent chunky C-pillars on the 2019 Mazda 3 hatch bring in more resemblance with the Kai Concept. However, the same pillars make way for a larger boot space on the sedan version of the new Mazda 3. The similarities with the Kai Concept do not end just there and can be seen at the rear as well. Housing circular components, the taillamps at the rear show no resemblance to the outgoing model. Moving below the taillamps, both the sedan and hatch get horizontal reflectors on each end of the bumper. Exhaust unit on the 2019 Mazda 3 hatch is a dual unit whereas the sedan gets a single outlet.

Move inside the 2019 Mazda 3 and you will see a centre mounted infotainment screen which is tilted towards the driver. The climate controls sit between the air-conditioning vents. The infotainment controls, armrest, and the gear lever all have been housed in the centre console.

SkyActive engines equipped with SkyActiv-X compression ignition powerplant, SkyActive Vehicle Architecture, and Mazda Connect are all expected to make their way to the 2019 Mazda 3. However, official specification sheet will only be available once the car breaks the cover the Los Angeles Motor Show.
