2019 Range Rover Evoque gets 5-Star Euro NCAP Safety Rating
KUALA LUMPUR: 2019 Range Rover Evoque has passed the latest crash safety test conducted by the Euro NCAP with a five-star rating. It comes a few days after a couple of other popular cars from Range Rover, e.g. Velar and Discovery also received the five-star rating.
2019 Range Rover Evoque comes with a score of 94% for adult occupant safety. Among the Jaguar Land Rover products, the car has achieved the highest ever score in this department. The Child occupant safety comes with 87% of the score, while in the safety assist systems department, the car scores 73%. Moreover, the Pedestrian gets a score of 72%.
To recall, the 2019 L551 Range Rover Evoque is an updated version of the outgoing model. It sits on the Jaguar Land Rover’s new mixed-material Premium Transverse Architecture, resulting into a safer car and increased interior space.
Moreover, this platform also helps to enable the electrification of the vehicle. Consumers can opt for a 48-volt mild-hybrid version for now, and the manufacturer claims that there will be a plug-in hybrid model in the near future.
The mild-hybrid (MHEV) option will be available with all the models except the 2.0-litre D150 2WD Manual. Every other variant will get a nine-speed automatic transmission having AWD. The D150 is capable of pushing out a maximum power of 150 PS along with the peak torque of 380 Nm. On the other hand, the petrol turbo P300 pumps out a maximum power of 300 PS and the peak torque is 400 Nm.
