2020 Nissan Titan revealed for the US market

KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan has taken the wraps off the 2020 Titan for the US market. With that, the car will step towards the second generation of the nameplate’s series. The new Titan comes with a new design along with a list of revised equipment and updated mechanicals.

The car will be available in five grade levels:

• S
• Pro-4X
• SV
• Platinum Reserve
• SL with the King Cab and Crew Cab body options

Speaking of the design, the 2020 Nissan Titan comes with a more prominent front grille with three different styles. The headlamps are newly designed with the “double boomerang” shaped LED DRLs. While the latter is present only in the higher-spec variants. Other notable upgrades include:

• Three new paint jobs
• Fog lamps
• New tailgate finishes
• Several new wheel designs
• LED flatbed lighting

Ingressing inside, each grade level of the 2020 Titan will get new trim and seat materials. The interior storage is increased, and there are some additional assist grips too. The Crew cab models get a panoramic sunroof. Other standard features include an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 12-speaker Fender audio system.

All the grades come with a VK56VD 5.6-litre direct-injection naturally-aspirated V8 petrol engine, which can make a maximum power of 400 hp along with a peak torque of 560 Nm. The power is sent to the wheel via a new nine-speed automatic transmission.

As for the safety features, the 2020 Nissan Titan comes with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard. The module includes several features such as:

• Automatic Emergency Braking having Pedestrian Detection
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert
• Blind Spot Warning
• Lane Departure Warning
• Rear Automatic Braking and High Beam Assist
• Other notable features are Intelligent Around View Monitor,
• Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Driver
• Alertness, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Intelligent Cruise Control
