2020 Porsche Taycan world debut scheduled for 4th September
KUALA LUMPUR: The news is out, and we have the final date for 2020 Porsche Tatcan debut, i.e., 4th September 2019. The Taycan is Porsche’s all-electric sports car that has already received around 30,000 bookings globally. Reports are out there that the new Taycan sales will outrun the figures of the Porsche 911 - brand’s most iconic model.
The entry-level Porsche Taycan will be offered with two permanently synchronous electric motors that’ll together pop out a total system output of over 600 PS. This configuration allows the Porsche EV to touch 0 to 100 kmph mark in under 3.5 seconds and the 200 kmph run time is under 12 seconds.
With a full charge, the Taycan has a total driving range of approx. 500 km. With the EVs fast charging available on its 800V system, the car can go up to 100 km with just a few minutes of charging. The vehicle is expected to be available in three trim options, including 4S and Turbo models.
Irrespective of the model picked, Porsche guarantees repeatable performance, all thanks to the car’s 800V technology along with the thermal management system. Recently, a pre-series prototype of the car with all-wheel drive and 600 PS was put through the Sprint Challenge, here the Taycan accelerated from 0 to 200 kmph 26 times in succession.
The time difference between the slowest and fastest sprint attempts was just as low as 0.8 seconds. And the average 0 to 200 kmph cover time is under 10 seconds. This is a fantastic car that will arrive in Malaysia in 2020. Are you excited? We sure are.
