2021 RAV4 Plug-in teased ahead of its official debut
KUALA LUMPUR: Ahead of Los Angeles Auto Show, scheduled to commence in next month, a teaser of Toyota RAV- plug-in hybrid version comes out. Speaking of RAV-4, the fifth-gen car, which made its debut at the New York International Auto Show in 2018 is still quite fresh. And it’s time for it to get a plug-in hybrid version, which is claimed to be called as the most powerful RAV4 till date.
The Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer made the hybrid a practical alternative to the gas-only vehicles with the highly popular Prius. Just like any other automotive teaser, not much information has been revealed regarding the upcoming car. Details related to the price, battery size, range, etc. are not yet disclosed by the carmaker. Toyota said, “Unlike any other, the new RAV4 Plug-in will be celebrated by its spirited acceleration, nimble handling and impeccable style.”
However, the current RAV4 hybrid comes equipped with a 1.6kWh nickel-metal-hydride battery that combines with the gasoline engine, which is capable of running 39 miles per gallon. Having said that, the plug-in Prius Prime features an 8.8kWh battery. The data mentioned above can provide a hint of what can be expected in November when the 2021 RAV4 Plug-in makes its official debut.
According to the Japanese carmaker, all the 2020 models will offer an upgraded battery warranty of 8 years/150,000 miles from the standard 8 years/100,000 miles. So if you have a plan to purchase a new 2020 hybrid Toyota or if you already own one, you will enjoy an extra 50,000 miles battery warranty, which is an excellent addition to the performance and reliability provided by the brand.
