A New hashtag on Instagram - Volkswagen Passat B8

KUALA LUMPUR :Spied a number of times before on the Malaysian roads, the VW Passat B8 has once again been spotted. But this time its a bit different, the new Passat was not spotted in real, but it made its appearance in the virtual world. Instagram, which is used by people around the world to share pictures and videos, currently withholds the latest spy shot of Passet B8. In the picture, the soon to be launched Passat is seen taking shelter at the DBR-HICOM plant.

Debut at the Das Auto Event last year, Passat B8 is said to be officially launching in Malaysia in the first quarter of 2016, and this spy shot further proves the reliability of this news. As it is known that DBR-HICOM PLANT is the place where Volkswagens are locally assembled in Malaysia, so it could be a hint that the new Passat B8, after its launch will share the same assembly spot as its sibling B8. Though, it is not known whether this spied Passat is the same car captured last month on the Malaysian road wearing a Pahang trade plate or is it a CUB car.

Talking about its specifications, Passat B8 will be built on MBQ platform, and it differs from its predecessor in a number of ways. Like, it would be 85 kg lighter from its previous model, and its wheelbase has been extended to 2,791 mm. With such wheelbase, the new Passat will surely comfort the passenger with a wider leg space. Further, will provide 586-litre of boot space, proving itself to be a complete automobile.

The new VW Passat, will be available in five TSI petrol engines and three TDI diesel engines. The petrol variants are expected to churn out power from 132 PS to 280 PS, similarly the diesel variants would give an output ranging from 150 PS to 240 PS.

As for the interior side, it is expected to get a number of advance features like fully-digital display screen, but these features will mostly be optional and would depend upon the price range under which it will be launched in Malaysia.
