And now we have a track-ready Urus ST-X Concept too

KUALA LUMPUR: Earlier this year, Lamborghini, the Italian pillar of the Volkswagen empire, stunned the world with its super-SUV (that’s what the Lambo guys call it), the Urus. The unveiling took place at the 2018 Lamborghini World Finals, and as if the impression was not enough, Lamborghini has now come up with a conceptual Urus. Called the Urus ST-X Concept, the super-SUV has been revamped in the quest of readying it for some fun on the track.

With substantially less weight, well, 25% less than the Urus to be precise, the super-SUV is captioned as the “arrive and drive”. The production model of the concept will arrive in 2020 in the European and the Middle East markets. Technical support during race weekends will also be of part of the package that comes along the track-ready SUV.

Other changes on the Urus include the addition of an integrated steel roll cage, FIA approved safety features, FT3 fuel tank, and fire suspension system. The bonnet on the track-ready is now all carbon-fibre and the air intakes are now larger as well. The paint job is a matte green Verde Mantis splash. Slim rear spoiler, lateral racing exhausts with new hexagonal design, revised rear bumper, 21-inch single-nut aluminium alloys clothed with Pirelli rubbers also come with the beast.

The power, however, is still produced by the 4.0-litre V8 motor that pumps out 668 PS of max power and 850 Nm of peak torque. Come 2019 Lamborghini World Finals and we will see the Urus ST-X Concept raring on the track.
