Auto Bavaria hosts Motorrad Expedition to Khao Yai, Thailand

KUALA LUMPUR: Auto Bavaria, the official distributor of BMW in Malaysia, organised its first-ever exclusive riding event overseas, the Auto Bavaria Ride to Khao Yai. The ride featured some of the best machines produced by BMW like the R 1200 GS, R 1200 GSA, S 1000 XR, R 1250 GSA, R 1200 RT and the R 1250 GSA.

The ride, which lasted for 6-days was a selected, invitation-only event held from 7th to 12th November. The event provided 20 participants with a unique experience of taking their BMW Motorrad models on an adventurous journey of approximately 3000 km. This long ride started from Auto Bavaria, Glenmarie showroom to Khao Yai in North Thailand and back.

The first convoy to take part in the ride met at the Klang Valley and crossed the border to attain a gathering with the other riders at the Vista Hotel in Danok, Thailand. The long ride covered sightseeing stints along the way and included stopovers for resting and photoshoots.

The second day of the ride started with a ride to Prachuap Khiri Khan for lunch and continued to travel through Ratchaburi and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya before reaching the destination point for the day, covering a total of 1,500 km.

The third day of the ride was designed for excavating the city and the ride was followed by a ride to 8Speed at Khao Yai, a motor track which was the selected venue to celebrate Motorrad
Day for this particular excursion. Followed by the fourth day where the Motorrad commenced through Prachuap before reaching the final stop in Thailand, the Nana Beach Resort in Chumphon.

The fifth day witnessed the convoy riding from Nakhon Si Thammarat and Phattalung before halting for the day at the Crystal Hotel in Hatyai. The successful completion of the 3,000 km journey was marked by a breakfast at the hotel Crystal before safely crossing the Sadao border to travel back to Malaysia.

The riding event which was held by Auto Bavaria focused on an exclusive riding experience with great hospitality. The ride was covered by a rescue van and a technical crew to attend to breakdowns and minor checks throughout the trip.
