Electric HR-V is on the way; to be the Everus EV

KUALA LUMPUR: Just a couple of months after adding the Everus EV Concept in the electric vehicles portfolio, Honda started working on their production model of the Everus EV. Some images are now doing the rounds on numerous Chinese automotive websites and these are of the production model of Everus EV.

During the last few years, the Japanese automaker has been trying hard to make their electric vehicle portfolio strong. The manufacturer has made the way for retro-futuristic Urban EV, which will hit the market in 2020, and now it is with the Everus EV.

The ongoing Honda HR-V comes with a plethora of safety features. The V-spec model features six airbags, vehicle stability assist (VSA), ABS with EBD and brake assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill start assist and the emergency stop signal.

If we believe the Chinese websites and consider that the leaked images are of Everus EV, the vehicle is set to give up on the futuristic look and adorns a more traditional design. As previously mentioned, the Honda HR-V is the root of the Everus and the production model’s design will be similar to the HR-V, but some changes would be made by the automaker.

The overall style of the production model is the same as the concept model. The vehicle gets rid of the manufacturer’s signature Solid Wing Face grille. However, to fill out this place, a flush panel is provided that can be opened to provide access to the charging port. On the bumper, large air vents are carved out and vertical LED DRLs are placed at the side. However, the projector headlamps remain the same as the Honda HR-V.

You will notice that the vehicle fails to retain the concept’s design at the rear. The rear now resembles the ongoing HR-V and you will find a strip of light connecting the taillights on either side.

A couple of reliable Chinese websites claim that the production model of Honda Everus EV will be introduced at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November. However, no further details are available.
