Ford Ranger scores high sales numbers; first-half share is 17.2%

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Auto ConneXion, aka, SDAC is the sole distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia, and today they reported the first-half sales performance of the Ranger pickup. Compared to the same period last year, the Ford pickup has registered a growth of 1.7 percent. Speaking of the overall pickup segment sales figure, the Ranger share is 17.2 percent.

Truong Kim Phong, Managing Director, Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company said, “The ‘Built Ford Tough’ Ranger continues to earn the favour of customers across the country and build on its growing success in the market.”

Sime Darby Auto ConneXion, Managing Director, Syed Ahmad Muzri Bin Syed Faiz, said, “Ranger sales are growing steadily as it continues to attract a wide range of customers who are looking for a versatile vehicle that is suitable for both work and play.” He further added that the company is confident that the Ranger will continue to drive Ford’s momentum in the country, while the automaker remains committed to its idea of enhancing ownership and customer experience.

At the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practice Awards, the Ford Ranger was named the ‘2019 Malaysia Pick-up Truck of the Year’. It is not just one, but in several ways, the Ranger has proven to the industry benchmark in the pickup segment. It surpasses its rivals in the award’s criteria like key competitive advantages, growth, market share, and marketing strategy.

Over time, the Ford Ranger has grabbed many recognitions, the latest one being the ‘Pickup Truck of the Year’ at the 2019 DSF.my Allianz Vehicle of the Year Awards (VOTY). The list further includes
