Ford records best ever sales in Quarter I 2015, March sales ground-breaking
Kuala Lumpur Its all good in the house of Ford as the company today announced an all-time record sales on a monthly basis, the retail of the American multinational rose 46% from February to make a total of 1818 units. This tremendous rise has made an all-time record for Ford on a quarterly basis too, with the sales pitch increasing 24% from the last quarter making a total sale of 4611 units.
David Westerman, Ford's MD in Malaysia had this to say in regard of this achievement. “ We are now expecting more correction in numbers in the forthcoming months, in lieu of GST implementation and the demand that it has created.” The “super” pick-up, Ford Ranger has maintained its position as the highest selling product of Ford in Malaysia. The retail of Ranger in march increased 42% to become 1369 units while quarterly 3504 units were sold of this pick-up alone resulting in a 36% increase in sales.
EcoSport, the dynamic compact SUV since its August 2014 launch also delivered its best sales results in March recording 132 units, taking the overall tally to 271 units. Alongside this, 474 Ford Fiestas and 179 Focuses were also sold in the first quarter of 2015. Good times are truly ahead for Ford, with the much anticipated launch of Mondeo, Ranger facelift and Everest (SUV) in the local market.
