Four finalists announced for MSF-R3 Ladies Racers Search programme
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Speed Festival (MSF), in association with Team Proton R3, has declared the finalists in its MSF-R3 Ladies Racers Search programme. Four drivers are selected for the final selection process after going through the intensive series of courses with the MSF mentor team and the Proton R3. The final selection will include a Sepang 1000KM race, where the four finalist racers will race under Team Proton R3.
Dayangku Faratiwan Adnil, Ng Aik Sha, Nurul Husna Nasharuddin and Samanda Lee are the four finalists, and they will now be examined on their driving skills, and they will be provided with a Proton R3 race car to show what they have got on Sepang Circuit later this month.
Head of Team Proton R3, Gary Lee said “To be honest, it was tough selecting the finalists. I can say all of them are good in their own unique way. There are certain criteria needed to be assessed for the final selection, all of which can only be truly seen during the driver training activity, where finesse is highly important in securing a win.”
After the final selection, the ladies are expected to drive a Proton Suprima designed and built by R3 at Sepang this September 25.
Adian Yein, MSF Series principal, said “Seeing MSF racers being valued and chosen for this programme is an achievement that we are very proud of. We are honoured to be given the opportunity by R3 to choose the candidates for this programme – and we are proud of the selected ladies to be a part of a Malaysian racing team with a history of excellent record.” After driving the Proton Suprima, the racers will be trained and prepared prior to the Sepang 1000KM race.
