Handal to jointly build an FCEV race car in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: According to the reports, Handal Energy, which is a fully-owned subsidiary of Energy Solutions Sdn Bhd, has declared that it will be entering the segment of renewable energy.
Handal will develop a hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicle. It has planned to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which states that the company is jointly developing the electric race car in Malaysia.
The brand said in a statement that the name of the vehicle will be HyPER and will be developed in collaboration with Pulsar UAV, NanoMalaysia, MNA Energy, and Wheelspin Motorsports. In addition to that, the powertrain of the Handal Energy electric race car will be offered by the NanoMalaysia’s hydrogen and hybrid energy storage system. It comes paired with a hydrogen generation technology, along with a graphene-based ultracapacitor, which is co-developed with MNA Energy and Pulsar.
The chairman of Handal, Tengku Baderul Zaman Ibni Sultan Mahmud said in a statement “The electric vehicle market is valued at over US$560,000 million by 2025. Handal intends to play a part in this industry as technologies and infrastructure advances. The technologies developed for HyPER will be able to solve certain issues related to the electric vehicle industry.”
Moreover, he declared that the move to enter the segment of renewable energy is a part of its tactical plan to generate a sustainable business that complies with the criteria of the government and environment. The group associated with this venture has finished the process of R&D and now, is planning to manufacture the first HyPER car prototype.
