Honda opens 12th dealership in Johor

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia opened its 97th dealership at Pasir Gudang, Johor, with an aim to further bolster its presence in South East Asia. The four-story state-of-the-art dealership is the 12th such enterprise in the state.

Honda Malaysia CEO and managing director Toichi Ishiyama said that the company has partnered with Yong Ming Motor to come up with the new showroom. He asserted that customer satisfaction is their top priority. Ishiyama said, it is very important that Honda Malaysia and its partners work closely to serve customers better, which can be only achieved via a strong support for the latter.

The new 77,000 sqft dealership has 14 bays that can accommodate 30 cars each day. These include three general repair bays, nine services bays, and two for tyre servicing.

Ishiyama said, his company believes that the latest dealership expansion will extend more convenience to the Honda customer, especially in the Pasir Gudang area. After-sales servicing is very important to Honda. Customers at the new dealership will enjoy top quality service along with various post-sales offerings. Everything at the new showroom, he said, has been targeted to enhance the joy of buying a Honda car.

Customers at the Pasir Gudang dealership will be privy to a huge waiting lounge. That aside, the facility has a Honda merchandise corner, children’s corner, and a cafe. Complimentary Wi-Fi will be provided to all visitors.

The southern region of the country, according to Honda Malaysia, has witnessed a steady growth both in terms of new customers and service seekers. The company recorded 235,000 service calls from January to November, which is a 13 percent increase from the same period in 2017.

That aside, the south recorded the second highest sales numbers from January to October, with 17,000 Honda cars being sold from the region. Honda City, one of the largest selling vehicles in its class, was the bestseller in the region, contributing 24 percent to the overall southern region sales. The Civic and CR-V came second and third respectively with 11 and nine percent sales.

The Honda Malaysia-Yong Ming Motor partnership dates back to 48 years. The Tokyo headquartered company joined hands with Yong Ming Motor to open its first dealership at Skudai, a suburb in Iskandar Puteri.
