Honda Malaysia recalls 23,476 units to replace Takata airbag inflators

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has declared another recall for 23,476 units of the City, Civic, Accord, Insight, CR-V, Jazz and Stream that were earlier recalled for the replacement of potentially faulty Takata front airbag inflators. It includes recall of following given models.

Takata Airbag recall

The affected models and consumers are strongly advised to repair them as soon as possible. Moreover, if you are afraid of the replacement charges, then you will be happy to know that you do not have to pay a single penny for the replacement of the defective Takata front airbag inflators as the cost of the replacement will be paid by the company.

Honda Malaysia said in a statement, “Honda Malaysia sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused to customers once again. As customer safety is always Honda’s top priority, the company believes this replacement is necessary as a precautionary action and urges affected customers to replace the defective Takata front airbag inflators as soon as possible. Honda Malaysia would like to emphasise that all its current selling models are not affected and the company will continue to uphold transparency and stringent controls to ensure customer safety.”

In addition to that, the affected car owners will get a notification from Honda Malaysia. After that, they can convey their vehicles to any of the nearby Honda authorised service dealers present in the country for the replacement. The carmaker assures that they will do its best to make sure 100% stock availability to ensure a hassle-free replacement process for all the 23,476 recalled vehicles.

If you own any of the cars from the current models on sale, then you don’t have to worry regarding the recall. However, if you are not sure if your vehicle is affected or not, then you can visit the official website of the carmaker and check it with your vehicle’s VIN.
