Hyundai Malaysia offers subsidies to its dealers and sales consultants

KUALA LUMPUR: Coronavirus hit the economy at a global level; it has shaken the everyday lives of the people. As for fighting against it, several national governments declared lockdowns in their countries. In Malaysia also, the government announced the movement control order on March 18, which is currently in its third phase. 

Recently, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin called to prevent the loss of jobs during this period for the welfare of the employees. Thus, to answer this, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has come forward proactively and decided to offer subsidies to dealers and sales consultants in meeting out their financial constraints.

It comprises a special monthly hardship allowance for the sales consultants, which they will receive from their dealerships. The assistance will be provided from April to June. However, the consultants who have been working for less than three months are not entitled to get the subsidy. Moreover, those consultants who are serving the notice period will not be eligible.

When it comes to the dealers, they will get financial subsidies for their online marketing expenses and the purchase of sanitizers, disinfectants, and thermometers. This will ensure the safety of customers visiting the sales and service outlets.

“The pandemic has badly affected the auto sector. We understand the hardship of our dealers and sales consultants, and we hope the subsidy will help ease their financial burden and help with the cost of health and safety measures at all authorized Hyundai sales and service outlets,” said Mr. Low Yuan Lung, Managing Director of HSDM.

Hyundai assures its customers that all the necessary safety protocols are already in place at the service centers, which have opened up and will be there at the centers which are opening soon. It includes:

• Temperature check and hand sanitization for all the visitors and employee
• Regular sanitization of the premise including all the touchpoints
• Disinfection of test drive cars before and after the drive and that too in the presence of the customer
• Display of goods hygiene practices all around the stores

Hyundai also released a health and safety procedure video for the customers’ assurance.
