Jaguar F-Type 2.0L Ingenium launched in Malaysia, priced at RM576K

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2018 Jaguar F-Type sports coupe has been launched in Malaysia at a price of RM575,800. The updated model comes with a few cosmetic updates, some feature additions, and the new 2.0-litre turbocharged Ingenium engine that was unveiled last year.

On the outside, the new 2018 F-Type continues to adorn the sports coupe styling of the outgoing model. However, Jaguar designers have made some noticeable changes to add freshness to the car’s looks. The changes on the 2018 model include revised LED headlamps, tweaked front bumper, a new set of tail lights, new 18-inch alloy wheels, and an updated single exhaust pipe finisher. The 2018 Jaguar F-Type also comes with a new colour option – Silicon Silver.

Inside, the new Jaguar F-Type features lightweight seats that make use of pressure-cast die-cast magnesium alloys for the seat frames. This construction mechanism helps in a weight saving of 8 kg, which in-turn improves the car’s dynamics. The cabin also comes with multiple chrome and aluminium accents for added detailing. Jaguar is even offering Sienna Tan leather upholstery as an optional extra across all variants of the new F-Type.

Infotainment duties inside the car are handled by a 10-inch touchscreen system that is run by a high-performance quad-core processor, a high-speed 60GB solid-state drive (SSD), and also supports an ultra-fast Ethernet network.

Under the hood, the new Jaguar F-Type comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine that churns out 300 PS at 4,500 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm at1,500 – 4,500 rpm. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox that transmits power from the engine to the rear wheels. Jaguar claims that the 2018 F-Type can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 5.7 seconds, before hitting its electronically controlled top speed of 250 kmph.

Jaguar Malaysia is offering a ‘Jaguar Care’ programme with the new 2018 F-Type. This package includes a 5 year / 150,000 km warranty and a 5 year / 65,000 servicing deal, along with Jaguar’s 3-year roadside assistance service.
