Meet the most powerful Corvette of all time, 2019 ZR1 revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: We have already seen the leaked images of Corvette ZR1 on the cover of Car & Driver last week and finally, the American automaker has revealed their fastest supercars of all time. Yes, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has been finally revealed which is the fastest of all produced ever.

To list what is different in the 2019 Corvette ZR1, let’s start with the exteriors. The front is completely restyled to give the updated Corvette an aggressive and more aerodynamic stance.  For maintaining the temperature to an optimal level, the manufacturer has installed more radiators. To optimize the overall weight, the hood is made up of carbon fibre and reflects ‘halo’ design. There is a chin spoiler on the front bumper, rear diffuser and fender-mounted wings that helps in generating more downforce.

The 2019 Corvette will be offered in two aero packages which include Low Wing, designed for better top speed and High Wing that helps in generating more downforce. The other features of the ZR1 include 5-spoke alloy wheels finished in gloss black, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, carbon ceramic disc brakes and Magnetic Ride Control for better handling at corners.

Under the hood, there lies a 6.2-litre V8 engine that pumps out a maximum power output of 760 PS and a peak torque of 970 Nm, which has raised the bar for all the other sports cars across the globe. This is the first time that Corvette ZR1 will be offered with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. However, the 7-speed manual transmission is offered as standard. In the cabin, bucket seats covered in sports leather, carbon fiber trim with bronze colored accents and heated as well as vented Nappa-leather trimmed seats are equipped. Whereas, the equipment list includes Bose audio system and performance data recorder.

Along with the standard color package, the optional Sebring Orange Design package further makes the 2019 ZR1 hot and sporty. In this, the Orange color scheme is not only highlighted on the body but also on seat belts, stitching, and brake calipers. It is expected that the 2019 Corvette ZR1 will hit the global market by early 2018.
