Mercedes-Benz promotes the message of social distancing

KUALA LUMPUR: In a global fight against COVID-19, everyone is playing its part in one or the other way. The contribution and support lent by the automakers are praiseworthy. Without worrying about their suspended production and falling revenues, they are standing all along with the national governments in this critical time. Today, we are highlighting the efforts of the German automaker, Mercedes Benz, who is tapping all the bits to control the spread of coronavirus pandemic. 

After Audi and Volkswagen, the Stuttgart-based luxury automobile giant has also changed its logo temporarily to promote the message of social distancing. In the new logo, the size of the iconic three-pointed star is reduced to show some distance between the star and the ring round it. The firm has posted the space-out logo on its official global Facebook account with a message, “Thanks to everybody for maintaining social distancing guidelines during these times. By acting together and #StayAtHome, we can successfully combat the virus.” 

A few days back, the brand has posted a video in which we saw a Mercedes GLE protecting its owner’s home. The video conveyed the message of the firm’s impeccable safety record. In the caption, Mercedes thanked each and every person working tirelessly towards controlling the coronavirus.

Not only this, but the firm is also making respiratory devices for coronavirus patients. The brand’s Formula 1 team is a part of “Project Pitlane” which aims at producing these devices. Furthermore, the firm is re-tuning its 3D printers for the production of other medical equipment, giving cash donations, sending its paramedical staff for the public emergency assistance, and also proving the coloring images for the people to pass the time during the lockdown.
