MG asking for crowdfunding for the Cyberster Concept
KUALA LUMPUR: Do you remember the striking Cyberster Concept that MG showcased at the recently wrapped-up 2021 Auto Shanghai? If not, we’ll like to inform you that this particular creation grabbed a lot of attention both from the media and enthusiasts for its futuristic looks.
Seeing its immense popularity, the question about its ever entering mass production was obvious. Well, here is the deal, MG is in plans to make the Cyberster Concept an on-road reality, but to do so the automaker requires help.
Yes, that’s true. The SAIC-owned automaker has launched a crowdfunding campaign to ensure the Cyberster future as a production vehicle. The said campaign is called the MG CyberCUBE and aims to invite and involve interested parties to fund the production of the Cyberster.
The automaker aims for 5,000 shares, each priced at 1,000 RMB (approx. RM 634), to begin the electric roadster production.
How to participate in the MG CyberCUBE campaign?
As per MG, all the interested parties need to log in to the MG CyberCUBE platform, wherein they would be required to submit the amount for one share, also known as ‘Dream Gold’. Once the automaker collects the required amount, consider the EV launched. As for the amount paid, it will serve as a deposit. In case MG isn’t able to trench its 5000 share goal, the amount will be refunded back to the parties. The MG CyberCUBE crowdfunding campaign is open until 31st July, 2022.
If the Cyberster becomes a part of the MG lineup, it will be a big achievement for the company. The electric sports cars come with autonomous technology with almost a century of heritage and will also mark the comeback of an MG roadster to the brand’s product range.
