Mini Countryman F60, Third of its Five Core Model Strategy - Spied

KUALA LUMPUR :Mini's workshop seems to be packed with a whole lot of work these days, as they are busy producing a new car for their ever increasing customer base. With car like the new F54 MINI Clubman and F57 Cabriolet making their way into the market, the former revealed in Berlin before its global debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and the later is scheduled to debut later this year. Next in line is the F60 MINI Countryman, which will be the third car in the new five core model strategy.

Spied a number of time before, this new MINI was once again captured though it didn't reveal much about the car, as the exact content will come out only after its debut. But one thing is for sure that the new Countryman will be a SUV, as was claimed by a BMW source. Also after a five-door hatch and the Clubman that has adopted a wagon-like approach, an SUV segment is need of the hour. Further, there is a strong future prospect of a hybrid version for this new SUV.

The new Countryman will be an off-road vehicle, with a larger boot space and more spacious and comfortable interiors. The car will be offered in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel option, the later will be followed by a Haldex clutch. The F60 front wheel drive will be based on a UKL1 platform, where else a UKL platform will support its four wheel drive version. Under the hood, the Countrymen is expected to hold a three and four-cylinder engine, that will run on both gasoline and diesel.

As for the fourth car, to be introduced in the five core model strategy, it is speculated to an MUV, named Traveler and that will be built on the Rocketman Concept. An official announcement from MINI can only bring an end to this confusion until then let's enjoy the new Countryman.
