Mitsubishi’s e-Evolution Concept to appear at 2018 PIMS
MANILA: If you have been following the automobile industry in the Philippines lately, you might have heard of the e-Evolution Concept from Mitsubishi, a vehicle that first made its debut in Tokyo. The company has now announced that following the Tokyo debut, it will be displayed at this year’s PIMS (Philippine International Motor Show).
This new Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept is considered to be the company’s step towards the performance breed cars. However, this concept vehicle is designed to be a cross between an EV and a very high-performing SUV.
The e-Evolution concept is built on the company’s Dynamic Shield Design language and holds a very coupe-ish rear section. The front section also has a very steep rake on the windshield to add a sporty touch to the roofline. The front bonnet has the DRLs’ strips at the top while the headlamps are placed below it. The wheel arches are very high and prominent with minimum fender area in the front.
It is built to be very different from all the Evolution cars in the past as it has a very strong mechanism under the hood. The 4WD system uses a very powerful set on motors, where one unit does the duties up front and one each for the rear wheels. The two motors at the rear are coupled together for the electronic torque vectoring using the Dual Motor AYC (Active Yaw Control).
Apart from just the e-Evolution, Mitsubishi has even said that that it will be revealing its complete lineup that is slated for the PIMS in the coming few days. Presently, the company’s Philippines lineup includes the Pajero, Montero Sport, Xpander, Mirage G4, Mirage and the Strada pickup.
