Official pictures and information of 2019 BMW 3 Series released

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW has finally released the official pictures of the upcoming 3 Series. This action has been taken by the German car manufacturer a few hours after a few unofficial pictures of the car were leaked on the Internet. Along with the pictures, BMW has also disclosed more information about the new 3 Series that we’d been waiting for.

The 2019 BMW 3 Series is clearly based on the company’s new design language that we’ve seen in its other high-end cars. It is quite evident that the new 3 Series is sharper, more dynamic, sportier, and meaner than the earlier model. The front of the car gets new headlamp design, a larger set of kidney grille; overall a sportier stance. Moving to the side we find the use of sharp lines and exotic alloy wheels. The rear end of the new BMW 3 Series features an L-shaped taillight cluster that is so more appealing than ever before. No complaints in the aesthetic front.

The cabin of the new BMW 3 Series is more German than before. The fit and finish are immaculate. The dashboard layout is well put and you sit in a commanding position. BMW has included a new digital instrument cluster that we’ve seen in the 8 Series Coupe. The screen at the centre console, the iDrive, is larger and we can expect to see it loaded with features from the 5 Series.

BMW has provided six engine options with the new 3 Series. They include two 4-cylinder turbo petrol, two 4-cylinder turbo diesel, one straight-6 turbo diesel, and one turbo petrol engine in the same configuration. The least powerful of the lot is the one which powers the 318d. It’s got 150 PS. And the most powerful has been installed under the hood of the M340i. It produces an impressive 401 PS. As far as the transmission is concerned, all the new models will come with 8-speed automatic units. It is still unclear whether BMW will continue to provide a manual gearbox or not.

At the time of the launch, the 2019 BMW 3 Series will be available in 3 variants - Sport, Luxury, and M Sport - which brings with them certain elements, both at the exterior and interior, to differentiate themselves from each other.
