Perodua Myvi and Bezza showcased at 2019 IESS

KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua Bezza and Myvi have managed to secure a sweet spot at the ongoing eighth International Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS), which is being hosted by India. The IESS is known for building a fertile ground for international trade where exporters dealing in engineering goods and services get an opportunity to burgeon their business contact with leading stakeholders. Tamil Nadu, a southern state in India has been selected as the host for the third time; the latest one in partnership with Malaysia.

The Perodua Bezza, which got a new variant last year, was found ingressing the event locale, it was parked at the event entrance. The shipping of Bezza to India was executed by IoT Institute (MARii) and Malaysia Automotive Robotics.

On the other hand, the Perodua Myvi was on display at the ‘Malaysia Pavilion’ at IESS. The third generation of Myvi was introduced in November 2017 and as per Perodua’s claim, the company has already delivered over 100,000 units of the model until February 2019.

However, the featuring of these two cars was not meant for any pre-sale showcasing. It was done to encourage the potential of local automotive purveyor in fostering their contribution to international trade.

The Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC) has also signed an MoU with Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii). The understanding was reached between the two with an aim to take a leap in the automation of manufacturing with the help of AI and robotics. Dato Madani Sahari, CEO of MARii said: “Both Malaysia and India have a high level of capabilities in automotive sectors”. The event was marked with the attendance of 400 delegates from 52 countries alongside 300 exhibitors.
