Proton announces the introduction of fresh models in Egypt

KUALA LUMPUR: Along with the launch of refurbished Proton 4S dealership in Smart Village, Abbou Rawash, Giza. Proton has made an announcement that the Egyptian market will be getting new and fresh models from the manufacturer. Meaning Alpha Ezz El-Arab, the distributor of Proton vehicles in Egypt will now have a bigger lot to sell in future.

The seven outlets in Egypt will get around 246 Proton vehicles. These vehicles landed in Egypt last month, and are left-handed drive models of Proton Saga and Exora. In fact, this is the same batch which left for Egypt in September.

In the year 2019, Proton’s official distributor in Egypt, Alpha Ezz El-Arab is targeting to sell 1,400 units. The officials from the distributor have shown optimism about achieving the target once the new models of the Saga and Exora start arriving in Egypt.

With a 15,000 sqm dealership, Alpha Ezz El-Arab is the only showroom to carry Proton’s corporate identity (CI) scheme in a country other than Malaysia. Al-Battal Street, Mohandessee and Nahas Street, and Nasr City are the other dealerships in Egypt which feature Proton’s new light blue CI.

Proton is also interested in starting off CKD operations in tandem with Alpha Ezz El-Arab in Egypt, but only after thorough research and studies. Due for over a decade, if CKD operations ever begin in Egypt, it will help Proton to capitalise on the local assembly benefits. Alongside the benefits, Proton will be able to spread its wings in the Middle Eastern North Africa (MENA) region as well.
