Proton Ertiga Xtra revealed in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Proton is one of the most efficient MPVs in the Malaysian market and the demand for it is constantly on the highest, so much that the company has debuted the Ertiga Xtra enhanced version at the Proton 1 Tank Adventure. This new variant has a few changes on the equipment list but with a pricier tag than the standard model.
Visually, the Proton Ertiga Xtra does not have a lot of differences than the standard model with 15-inch wheels, halogen headlamps with reflectors and fog lamps. The wheels are wrapped in 185-section GT Radial Champiro Eco tyres.
On the inside of the new version of the Proton Ertiga, there is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with GPS navigation, Smartphone E-link, DVD player and Bluetooth connectivity. These, of course, are new additions to the list of equipment. The interior has a warmer ambience with the darker shade. Apart from these, the version also gets power foldable wing mirrors, steering-mounted controls for the audio system, air conditioning for the second row and a total of six speakers.
Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.4-litre VVT engine that can put out a maximum power of 92 PS at 6,000 RPM along with a peak torque of 130 Nm, which comes at 4,000 RPM. The power is sent down to the wheels via a 5-speed manual in the Executive MT trim and a 4-speed automatic in the Executive AT and Premium trims.
The manual Executive variant of the Proton Ertiga Xtra is priced at RM56,773 while the range-topping Premium AT gets a price tag of RM62,278. These figures are OTR without insurance.
