SDAC reveals more specifications on upcoming Ford Ranger lineup

KUALA LUMPUR: SDAC or Sime Darby Auto Connexion, the only Ford distributor in Malaysia, shared more details about the upcoming new Ranger lineup today. The Ranger lineup includes the Wildtrak, XL, XLT and Ranger Raptor that is believed to be country’s first Ford performance automobile range. The Ranger Raptor is believed to make its much-awaited nationwide debut this November 2018 at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show.

The latest Ford Ranger will hit the dealership with an array of updates to help it deliver aggressive performance & capabilities on the road, thanks to the impressive fuel efficiency and acceleration rate. The vehicle range is believed to be powered by the smallest but the most robust engine available in the market so far. Both the Ranger Wildtrak and Raptor models will draw their power from the first and only in-class new-gen 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel powertrain mated to a smart 10-speed automatic transmission. Ranger Raptor, Ranger Wildtrak, XL and XLT, all will come with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

This remarkably versatile pickup truck is designed using sophisticated technologies to help it deliver impressive performance in cities, off-roads and beyond. Ford Ranger features multiple sophisticated, innovative, and only in-class driver-assistance safety features, like AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking) and SAPP ( Semi-Automatic Parallel Parking). The first and only in-class additions in the new Ford Ranger include Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Easy Lift Tailgate, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Easy Lift Tailgate, with an incorporated torsion bar, facilitates hassle-free lowering and lifting. Autonomous Emergency Braking alerts the driver against surrounding pedestrians and vehicles and in case the driver pays no attention the system will apply the brakes and stop the vehicle automatically. The SAPP feature makes the vehicle ideal for cruising the narrow city roads with greater ease and efficiency. It will automatically make necessary adjustments in the vehicle speed to ensure a safe distance from the car ahead. Also, The 2018 Ford Ranger earned a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating.

The 2018 Ford Ranger pickup can be brought home at a price tag ranging from around RM 83,588 and RM 133,704. It is expected to be introduced towards the latter half of this November.
