Spied: Facelifted Hyundai Grand Santa Fe

Kuala Lumpur: As we already know that the facelifted Santa Fe has been launched in South Korean markets a few days back. We somehow managed to gather few spy shots of the updated Grand Santa Fe which was being tested at the automaker's test facilities in Germany. In order to conceal its identity, it was loaded with a heavy camouflage, but some minute details could be speculated from the shell. Don't expect any major changes in this car as only some minor cosmetic tweaks will be made to bring it in line with Tuscon's recent design language.

On the outside, one can notice that it would be sharing its design with the new standard version but with a bit of nip and tuck. Towards the front, a more prominent hexagonal grille along with a redesigned bumper and headlights can be seen. The structure of this car would be sculpted with a more high strength steel to provide it a tough chassis. At the rear end, you can expect a more sculpted bumper and taillights with updated internal graphics.

 

Some minor tweaks will be made in the engine range and would be offered in three different variants namely 2.4-litre GDI engine, 2-litre turbo engine and 3.3-litre V6 engine. However, most of the European markets would continue with 2.2-litre CRDI diesel engine and its old 6-speed automatic transmission. It is also expected that power will increase from 197 PS to 202 PS and torque will go up from 436 Nm to 441 Nm.

Talking about the safety features, the facelifted Grand Santa Fe would be equipped with a seven airbag mechanism, electronic stability control, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Automated Emergency Braking (AEB) , High Beam Assist (HBA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and Advanced Smart Cruise Control (ASCC). Apart from this, it would be made compatible with 'Hyundai's Blue Link' which would enable you to control the car remotely with starting up the car, locking, unlocking and locating your vehicle.
