Spied: Third-generation Hyundai Tucson caught on roads

Kuala Lumpur: A prototype third-generation Hyundai Tucson has been spotted on the roads of Malaysia while it was being carried on a trailer. The front and the rear end of the car were concealed by a thick black cover, so as to hide the newly integrated styling. Despite the covering, this prototype gave many hints regarding the new Hyundai Tuscon which is yet to be launched. Talking about the 2016 Hyundai Tucson, it made a global debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March before going on to premiere in US at this year's New York International Auto Show. Unfortunately, the official launch of the all-new SUV is still far off, but we will make you familiarize with some of its key features.

The all-new Hyundai Tucson would be launched in a completely new look, both from inside and outside. Towards the front fascia, it is crafted with a bold, hexagonal grille along with the LED projector headlights, while the rear features LED tail lamps, a tail gate spoiler and twin exhaust pipes with chrome accents. On the inside, the cabin would be designed with a new architecture and would be integrated with a standard 5-inch LCD touchscreen with reverse camera feature as standard. Other convenience features would include a powered tailgate and Smart Parking Assist System (SPAS) with both parallel and head-on parking capabilities.

Worldwide, it is being offered with a choice of five engine variants, out of which two are petrol and three are diesel engines. Beginning with the gasoline engines, first one being a 1.6-litre GDI engine with a power of 135 PS while the other one being a turbocharged 1.6-litre T-GDI engine with a maximum power of 175 PS. As for diesel engines, following three options can be considered- a 115 PS 1.7-litre engine, a 136 PS 2.0-litre engine or a 184 PS 2.0-litre engine. Apart from this, the third-generation Hyundai Tucson has also dropped it's 'ix35' nickname.
