The All New Triton in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Imagine a red sizzling pickup with a modified appeal, getting jealous looks from those old days ugly pickups. Giving this imagination, the wheels of reality is the Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) which has officially launched its 2015 Triton in Malaysia.

Comes with wide choice of variants named as Triton quest, Triton M/T 4X4, Triton VGT M/T 4X4, Triton VGT A/T 4X4 and Triton VGT Adventure A/T 4X4. Available in the colour you want, it comes in earth green, red solid, pearl white, shadow black, sterling silver and white solid.

Across all the five variants, the same engine is embodied, the 2.5 litre DI-D Hyper Common Rail DOHC turbo-diesel engine gives power in the range of 110 PS to 178 PS and torque in between 200 Nm to 400 Nm. The engine is further mated with either five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. It either offers the four wheel drive or two wheel drive.

The pickup carry noticeable changes in its exterior designing with the chrome grill, Xenon HID projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, fog lamps, rear step bumper and 17-inch alloy wheels. The taillights are again new with a rear view camera and high-mounted stop lamp. The cargo area is lowered and deepened for easy loading.

The surprising thing here is the improved cabin space with 20 and 10 mm increase in shoulder and leg room respectively. The seats are better cushioned to enhance the feel of comfort. The standard features which come inside it are the audio system with AUX, USB connectivity and speakers, air conditioning and Multi info display screen while the paddle shifters and button mounted steering wheel comes in the higher variant.

Mitsubishi Triton also offers dual front airbags and is equipped with the anti-lock brake system, electronic brake-force distribution, ISOFIX child seat anchors and a reverse camera.

With wide choices from variants to its colours and features, the price tag of the pickup would vary from RM 69,800 to RM 111,600.
