Toyota Avanza Facelift Images Leaked

KUALA LUMPUR: Just before the debut of facelifted Toyota Avanza later this month at the 2015 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), low-quality official pictures have been leaked over the Internet. Though the quality of images isn't very good, but still good enough to get a rough idea for the upcoming launch of seven-seater MPV by the Japanese auto maker. The photos have been leaked by an Indonesian portal, named AutonetMagz.

Images indicate the difference between the standard and the sporty version, which are ready to come to the Indonesian market. The standard variant will get a front fascia with a thick chrome bar at the top of the trapezoidal grille, which connects the front pair of headlights. While, the sporty version of Avanza is named Veloz, which gets a Vios-like front look comprising of new projector headlamps, a sleek grille on top and a big section of downturned air dam, that connects the fog lamps. The rear part comes with no major changes apart from the refreshed tail lights that move right down to the tailgate, which are connected through a new chrome plated number bar.

Despite being a low quality image, it reveals almost everything about the car's interior including a touchscreen infotainment system, new gear lever and a number of new color schemes including black and brown for standard Avanza and full black for the sporty version, Veloz.

Under the flesh, Avanza is available with two petrol engine options in the market, 1.3L and 1.5L, either of which is likely to be integrated with a new Dual VVT-i technology. The inclusion of latest technology will help to improve the fuel efficiency. The ongoing 5-speed manual and the 4-speed automatic transmission systems are likely to carry forward in the new versions.
