Volkswagen unveils T-Roc R ahead of its Geneva Motor Show debut
KUALA LUMPUR: Volkswagen has unveiled the R version of its popular T-Roc crossover. The T-Roc R was teased a few days back through an official sketch, which dropped enough details about its design.
The German automobile giant has done exceptional work in terms of designing to give it a sporty outfit. The radiator grille has a polished silver band made of aluminium, on which clearly sits the ‘R’ logo. The bumper is also in coherence with the looks and retains the same color as the front and back of the vehicle. It also sports LED daytime running lights.
The T-Roc R stands on 18-inch “Spielberg” alloys, but the customer can opt for “Pretoria” dark graphite matt alloys as well. A titanium exhaust system from Akrapovic can also be added as an optional accessory. Other particulars of design include mirror caps in matt chrome look, widened wheel arches, and a roof spoiler.
On the performance front, the impressive TSI technology-based 2.0-litre engine delivers an output of 300 PS with an impressive torque of 400 Nm, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds and reach to a top speed of 250 km/h. The crossover comes with a progressive steering and a 17-inch braking system to ensure an irk-free and agile driving experience. The driving modes on this vehicle include a race mode for a sporty feel, supplemented by a control feature that can provide optimum traction. It can also manage stability quite efficiently with the help of these modes.
The Volkswagen T-Roc R comes in numerous color options to satisfy the need of its customers, which includes Lapiz Blue Metallic or Pure White Uni, Flash Red Uni, Turmeric Yellow Metallic, White Silver Metallic, Energetic Orange Metallic, Deep Black Pearl Effect, and Indium Grey Metallic.
As mentioned before, this vehicle is going to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2019, which will commence from March 7.
