Watch Perodua Aruz launch - Live Stream

It’s just a matter of a few hours before Perodua will launch the much-awaited Aruz in Malaysia. Watch it here. The current lineup consists of a hatch, sedan, a crossover, and an MPV. The only thing missing out of the picture is an SUV. The Aruz launch will add a B-segment sports utility vehicle to the company’s lineup making it complete.

Prior to the Aruz, the Perodua Malaysian lineup had two cars hailing from the SUV segment. Can’t recollect? Well, we are talking about the Nautica and the famous Kembara. Following the foot-step of its predecessor, the Aruz too is said to be based on the Daihatsu Terios. This explains the Aruz striking resemblance with the Rush, as the Toyota car served as the basis for the Terios.

What we know so far about the Aruz is that it would obtain its power from a 1.5-litre VVT-i petrol engine that would be mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The new Perodua SUV claims a fuel-efficiency of 15.6 kmpl and will come with Eco Ideal start/stop engine tech. One thing that in particular caught everyone’s attention is the presence of Advanced Safety Assist 2.0.

As for the price figures, the Aruz is expected to carry a starting price tag of RM 72,200.
