3 important car myths solved

There are a lot of myths that rule the automotive world as on how to get the best out of your car. These myths are on the news so frequently that we believe them to be true without paying attention to the actual facts.

car myths busted

So, we have decided to reveal the most commonly repeated myths in the car world so that the owners can be free of unwanted tension and start working on the actual things that keep their car healthy.

1. Fueling up your car in the morning brings home more fuel

car fueling station

Yes, it can be true, only if you are able to hand over a torn note to the petrol pump when visibility is less because there is no other way that can get you more fuel in the morning.
Petrol or diesel lose their density as they heat up and since we buy fuel by volume it seems to be true that at the low temperature we can grab denser fuel. However, the pumps store the fuel under the ground and hence the density level is almost constant across the day. Now you no longer need to wake up early for a refill.

2. Premium fuel will make your car run faster

premium fuel

Usually, supercars are filled with high-quality fuel and hence they perform well. Hence, your car should show a similar performance right?

Well, supercars have a high-compression engine where it is mandatory to use high-quality fuel in order to avoid premature combustion(the phenomenon of Knocking ). Knocking has a lot of effect on the car's overall health like damaged valves, erosion of the piston, carbon deposits in the combustion chamber due to unburnt fuel and much more.
Most of the mid-range cars don't demand high octane fuel. The automakers check the performance of every car using a regular fuel before putting them on sale. There is not much of a noticeable change when using a regular fuel.

3. Driving with less fuel can damage the engine

less fuel

Most of the modern day vehicles have fuel injection and they are able to draw the fuel from the bottom of the tank to maintain a constant supply across the vital parts of the engine.
Hence there is no need to maintain a full tank in any present-day car. It is suggested not to keep the fuel tank empty in order to avoid getting stuck in the middle of nowhere.
Instead of following these myths, it is suggested to maintain your car’s with timely servicing and maintenance. Getting the engine oil changed, cleaning the air filter, aligning the wheel, checking tyre pressure etc are some things you need to carry out on a regular basis.
