The seven seating configuration of the Perodua Aruz makes it one of the most flexible and practical cars of today’s time. The Mazda CX-5 looks more like a crossover despite having a sophisticated, contemporary appearance and outstanding road presence. It also lacks the usual SUV's butch posture. This may put off many consumers of classic SUVs.

The Mazda CX-5 has a respectable amount of space in the front and back. The boot space, though, could have been a little bit larger.

The Mazda CX-5 could have used a little more ground clearance because it is a bit low slung for an SUV. Although competent and functional, it is not large enough for an SUV of this calibre.

While there is not much to complain about the packaging and exterior styling of the Perodua Aruz, the fact that it is nothing but a rebadged Toyota Rush robs of the factor of exclusivity from this car. It would have been better if Perodua could have introduced some minute styling changes in and out, rather than just replacing the Toyota badge with that of Perodua, and nothing else.

While the exterior styling of the Perodua Aruz is exceptionally well and dramatic, the same can’t be said about the interior cabin layout. It would have been better if Perodua could have made the dashboard layout as contemporary and visually striking as the exterior design. The interior cabin layout looks a bit simple for a UV of this segment.
