2019 Aprilia Shiver 900 naked sports tourer makes its way in Malaysia

KULA LUMPUR: The 2019 Aprilia Shiver 900 has made it to the Malaysian market and carries a price tag of RM 72,000. It has been made available in two color options - Challenging Red and Innovation Dark.

The body of  Aprilia Shiver 900 is quite contoured and nicely sculpted. The fuel tank extension cowl entices the design further. The suspension is done over Kayaba upside down forks with 41 mm diameter up front and adjustable monoshock at the rear. Both sides have up to 130 mm travel.

The motorcycle rolls over 17-inch wheels that are wrapped in 120-section tyre up front and 180-section at the rear. The braking is done by dual discs up front (320 mm each) and a single 240 mm at the rear. A dual channel Continental ABS is added in the feature list.

The Aprilia Shiver 900 carries a V-twin, DOHC engine that can churn out a maximum power of 95.2 bhp at 8,750 rpm and a peak torque of 90 Nm at 6,500 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox delivers the power to the wheel via a chain final drive.

The Aprilia motorcycle is very feature-rich on the electronic bits as well. It has a 4.3-inch TFT-LCD display that has adaptive backlighting. It has the Aprilia MIA system inbuilt, which helps in a plethora of connectivity features like smartphones connectivity for navigation and music playback. It is also the control panel for three riding modes - Rain, Touring and Sports. The Rain mode brings the power down to just 70 bhp.

Interested buyers can also avail accessories like panniers, tank bag, and a comfort saddle. Interestingly, it is the first Aprilia sports motorcycle launched in the country after the distributorship was shifted to Didi Resources in July last year.
