Ducati Scrambler 1100 to be unveiled at Art of Speed
KUALA LUMPUR: A moment to rejoice for biking enthusiasts and specifically Ducati lovers is here as the sole distributor of Ducati motorcycles in Malaysia, Next Bike Sdn. Bhd. is set to take covers off the Scrambler 1100 Special and the Scrambler 1100 Sport at the upcoming Art of Speed (AOS) exhibition, which is slated for 28th and 29th of the ongoing month.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 was earlier unveiled at the EICMA 2017 which sent an excitement wave around and ever since each biking enthusiast was eagerly waiting for its arrival in the country. The Scrambler’s “Land of Joy” range will be appended with the Scrambler 1100 and would also see a hike in its Malaysian fans.
The Scrambler 1100 draws power from a 1079cc Desmodromic, L-Twin, air-cooled engine that produces a max power of 87 PS at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 88 Nm at 4,750 rpm.
Additionally, the bike gets three riding modes, ACTIVE, JOURNEY, and CITY, cornering ABS from Bosch and the Ducati Traction Control (DTC). While the ACTIVE mode gives full power to the engine with a limited traction control, the JOURNEY mode provides a touring experience to the rider with immense power and smooth delivery force. The CITY mode, on the other hand, is an offering for urban conditions with a limited power supply of up to 75 PS. The power delivery is, however, the smoothest in the CITY mode.
The braking setup across the range remains the same. It comes equipped with Brembo brakes with Monobloc 4-piston callipers. The Base and Special models get a 45 mm fully adjustable Marzocchi upside-down fork at the front and a Kayaba monoshock unit at the back. The Sport model, alternatively, gets a 45 mm adjustable Öhlins upside-down fork at the front in combination with a rear Öhlins monoshock suspension.
The Base and Sport Scrambler ride on the 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels while the Special variant uses 17-inch aluminium wheels. Some other design bits include a pronounced ‘X” on the headlamp and a new LCD instrument cluster. You’d also find the ‘radiator’ shrouds behind the forks. The highlight of the bike has to be the high-mounted dual-exhaust setup, which is said to produce pure Ducati V-Twin exhaust note.
So, if you are a Ducati fan who was waiting for the Scrambler to come to Malaysia, then here is your chance to experience it live. Mark your calendar for Art of Speed exhibition on 28th and 29th of July 2018 at MAEPS, Serdang.
