Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R introduced at AIMExpo, Las Vegas
KUALA LUMPUR: Kawasaki has introduced the 2019 Ninja ZX-6R following the rumours that were on for around a couple of years. The company chose the AIMExpo of Las Vegas in the USA for the revelation. And going by the looks, the bike does seem to be a lot more aggressive and sharper than before, along with quite a few new additions to the spec sheet.
Under the hood, the 2019 Ninja ZX-6R still has the same 636 cc, four-cylinder engine as before. However, what has changed is that Kawasaki tuned the engine to make it compliant with the Euro-4 emission norms and managed to not compromise with the performance as well. However, the power figures have not been revealed yet.
Yet, if we look at the mechanism of the engine, we will understand that the company has spent a lot of time on it. There are new fuel injectors to boost the performance, where the first and last intakes are shorter while the two mid ones are longer. Plus, the pistons are coated with molybdenum that helps in reducing the friction.
For the transmission mechanism, quick-shifter is given as an option, albeit only for upshift. The gearbox is also assisted by the presence of a slipper clutch which enhances the riding experience with a very soft lever, besides reducing the back-torque. The exhaust system has been redesigned too and is specially tuned for the mid and low-range torque.
The new Kawasaki bike is built on a perimeter frame which is made with pressed aluminium. This makes sure that the two-wheeler is more compact and narrower. The suspension setup is sourced from Showa where the rear monoshock is completely adjustable. There are new twin LED headlamps and tail lights. The instrumentation has been given a High-Grade touch which is similar to the new Kawasaki motorcycles including the new Versys-X.
