Royal Enfield unveils one-off LockStock Dragster

KUALA LUMPUR:  Royal Enfield has uncovered a one-off custom dragster named LockStock at the recently held event by The Bike Shed Motorcycle Club in London. The dragster will draw power from the big 650cc parallel-twin engine just like its other 650 twins - the Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 that are yet to be launched.

The LockStock is a custom-made drag bike which may be the most powerful two-wheeler from the stable of Royal Enfield. It is pretty sure that the company would tune the stock engine for more power and match the characteristics of a drag bike, though the exact details about the tune are still unknown. The standard engine fitted on the 650 twins produces a max power of 47.6 PS at 7100 rpm and a peak torque of 52 Nm at 4000rpm.

Apart from the engine, the LockStock seems to have borrowed the fuel tank from the Continental GT 650. What’s new on the dragster is its chassis. It comes with a single saddle, a nitrox oxide cylinder, and some crafty bodywork. Other drag-spec components include the drop-bar handle, tyres and a chunky looking headlamp which has been blessed with a projector lamp surrounded by an LED ring.

The suspension duties are handled by the Ohlins USD front forks and hardtail suspension with no shocks at the rear. Braking is courtesy of Brembo discs at the front as well as at the rear.

There is a high possibility that the drag-specific 650cc engine in presence of the nitrox cylinder will produce more power and clock the speeds that no RE motorcycle has done before. Which means, it may be the most powerful and the fastest bike produced by Royal Enfield.
