KUALA LUMPUR: The team Suzuki Ecstar has introduced the 2019 GSX-RR for the upcoming MotoGP 2019 season. The team took a unique step to unveil their bikes by uploading a video on YouTube.
We had witnessed all-Spanish rider line up during MotoGP 2018 season. However, this time around, the three-years experienced, Alex Rins is accompanied by a new rider, Joan Mir. The 2018 season also had Andrea Iannone, who has left the team Suzuki to join Aprilia. Sylvain Guintoli, the test rider, remains the same.
The three-years factory veteran, Alex Rins came second in last three rounds of last season. He has the potential to come first too. The team Suzuki last won a race in the 2016 season with Maverik Vinalez.
Newcomer Joan Mir made a grand entry at Moto3 in 2015 by replacing Hiroki Ono, whose season was over due to an injury. In 2016, Mir had appeared as a full rider and claimed the fifth spot in the season. The rider secured with ten wins and got an advantage of 91 points over its closest rival. In 2018, he moved to the Marc VDS team for Moto 2 and claimed four podiums and also the sixth position.
The drivers will use 2019 Suzuki GSX-RR, which is pretty much similar to the 2018 model. It comes with new graphic styling, and the yellow and grey stripes are now bolder than before. The motorcycle that was shown on Youtube will get some modifications done as per the rider.
The technical manager of the team Suzuki, Ken Kawauchi said the motorcycle would get a brand-new engine and chassis. It also gets some modifications in the fairing and electronics department. The manufacturer and the team have taken the MotoGP project seriously and is trying to make improvements.
