Yamaha Malaysia is about to receive a special ‘World GP 60th Anniversary’ model, something our neighbours and the U.S & European markets has already received. Before getting to the upcoming arrivals detail, let us first know the occasion it celebrates.

As can be seen from the name, the ‘World GP 60th Anniversary' model celebrates the brand’s 60th anniversary of its first-every entry into a World GP race, the 1961 Grand Prix of France. Thus paying tribute to Yamaha’s passion for racing at the highest levels of motorsport.

Yamaha Motorcycle Product Line Manager rightfully said that via the World GP 60th Anniversary model the brand enthusiasts get ‘the opportunity to this piece of Yamaha racing history.’

What exactly are we getting tomorrow (8.4.2022)?

A World GP 60th Anniversary Edition variant of an already existing model. Which model will it be is undercover and will be confirmed tomorrow with the reveal? Expected/rumoured models include the R25, NVX, and Y16ZR.

The selected model’s special edition variant will feature the iconic 60th Anniversary Yamaha red and white racing livery along with a range of special detailing. The latter includes gold wheels, Yamaha factory race-bike Gold Tuning Fork emblems, gold forks, special commemorative airbox cover badging, and black levers.

Yamaha models that feature the ‘World GP 60th Anniversary' Special Edition variant internationally are -

• USA: YZF-R3, YZF-R7, and YZF-R1
• Europe: YZF-R1, YZF-R3, YZF-R7, and YZF-R125
• Indonesia: Aerox 155 and MX King 150
• Thailand: YZF-R7 and R15M
• Vietnam: Exciter 155 VVA
