Fraudulent Quality
First and foremost,it fails closer inspection.Eversince delivery, I've noted and informed Honda Malaysia of my findings and obviously they do not seem keen to resolve the problems with this model. Driver floor mat has eyelets too small for easy removal/install, Zero soundproofing materials at the doors and wheel wells, deformed hole for rear left passenger rubber door stopper, thin rubber weatherstripping seals on all 4 doors some with the corner flaps torn beyond press mark, debris under the touchscreen of the Infotainment unit, rattling of the dashboard rear seats and doors, missing mudflap screw, unsightly line mark on horn pad, gaps wide enough for fingers at both rear sides and front passenger between the plastic trim and carpet, and a scratched even before use carjack from a poorly designed car jack receptacle. Dealing with Honda Malaysia is problematic as well because they do not reply in writing leaving no record except for hearsay. Their website form doesn't issue a reply with a ticket number and neither does it gives a copy of the complaint which is cumbersome when there's multiple complaints for many issues. At first I thought since Honda is supposed to be a reputable brand, none of the unimaginable issues with the BR-V is possible, however experience proved otherwise. They will push any delays as a fault of the SC saying that the SC didn't report the issues but when it's reported they'll claim that the SC clarified the issues and found them within specs. What's annoying is that within specs to them is after having confirmed the same issues present in their test drive vehicle which is a bummer because that means all the issues highlighted earlier are standard Honda quality. How is that even possible!?! Last but not least one doesn't compare a broken egg to another broken egg as the result will be generally similar, both are already broken in the first place. Keeping DRB-Hicom in the loop didn't work out too - they're not interested to investigate whether poor quality materials are being used in a "subsidiary". Too cut a long story short, I'm hoping that Honda Malaysia will compensate my bad purchase decision with something more than a few temporary fixes instead of a permanent solution. I wouldn't mind returning the BR-V too to them and call it a day. It's been a real stressful experience to date!
