Zontes debuts in Malaysia with four lightweight motorcycles

KUALA LUMPUR: Zontes Malaysia has made its debut in the lightweight motorcycle segment with four new models - 2019 ZT310-R (naked sports), ZT310-T (adventure tourer), ZT310-X GP, and ZT310-X (full-fairing sports-tourers).

All four motorcycles are built on the same chassis and platform. The 2019 Zontes ZT310-R, ZT310-T, ZT310-X GP, and ZT310-X are priced at RM 19,800, RM 22,800, RM 21,600, and RM 20,800 respectively, excluding registration, road tax, and insurance.

Zontes new range of motorcycles is equipped with 312 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which pumps out a maximum power of 34.8 hp at 9,500 rpm, while the peak torque is 30 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed manual gearbox, and the Delphi fuel injection feeds the engine. It carries a 15-litre fuel tank.

All four motorcycles have LED lighting as standard. The adventure tourer, ZT310-T is equipped with four-element LED headlight and a large rectangular display, while the other three bikes come with a monochrome display.

The Zontes ZT310-T gets a motorised windscreen, which is also present in the ZT310-X. The former will even get the top box and panniers fitted by Zontes Malaysia for a limited period. Other standard features include two power modes - economy and sports, keyless start, electronically operated fuel filler, and seat lock.

Both the front the rear wheels get a single hydraulic disc each. The Bosch 9.1M two-channel switchable ABS also enhances braking efficiency. Speaking of suspension, the gas-filled preload adjustment only monoshock and upside-down forks are provided.

All four 2019 Zontes ZT310 motorcycles will hit the Malaysian market in March and will be available via authorised Zontes Malaysia dealers.
