Patagonian Eagle 250 is available in 2 different colors - Red and Silver.
Positioned below the twin-cylinder Dorado 250, the Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 is a more affordable quarter-litre cruiser motorcycle from the Chinese two-wheeler major. The rather quirkily named motorcycle, the Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 is being offered in a single variant in the Malaysian two-wheeler market, which has been made available in two different paint shades of black and red.
The cruiser motorcycles usually focus on the ‘form over function’ approach, and the Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 somehow manages to fit in the bill with its tall stance and old school styling. The motorcycle has got a good mix of blacked-out and chrome finished parts, thus making it look quite charming.
The Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 looks quite tall when viewed head-on, with a round headlamp, placed quite high within a blackened semi-spherical casing. Even the amber-coloured turn indicators attaché to the headlamp unit do get blacked out housings for them.
The Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 looks the best when viewed from the side, with the motorcycle having a curved peanut style fuel tank placed quite low, adorned with the cool looking badge spelling the name of the motorcycle on its sides. The alloy wheels, which here are finished in black, too look quite unique with broad looking five spokes for them.
While the motorcycle comes with a single-cylinder engine, which is here given chrome treatment, the engine makes a way out for two very long exhaust pipes stacked one over the other, which does help in making its visual appeal even better.
The trapezoidal-shaped side body panels with tapered upper edges and large flared rear fender too are positioned a bit low, due to which the Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 gets a low seat height helping in its cruiser credentials. The split individual seats of the motorcycle, as well as the large backrest behind the pillion seat, do come with studded treatment on their sides, which look quite cool.
The rearmost tip of the rear fender flows slightly upwards, at the back of which is placed the small tail lamp unit, flanked with amber colored turn indicators on its sides and a short rear fender attached to its bottom.
The high mounted curved handlebar, as well as forward-set foot pegs, make up for a very comfortable riding posture on the Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250. The motorcycle has been equipped with a simple round-shaped all analogue instrument console, which shows old school dials for speedometer, odometer and a trip meter.
The Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 has been given quite a simple mechanicals, with the long hydraulic telescopic coil springs at the front and a pair of hydraulic coil springs at the back. As expected, the suspension has been tuned softly to make sure that it feels like a traditional cruiser. The motorcycle has been armed with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear for braking purposes, which do a fine job, though a rear disc brake would have been appreciated even more.
The engine and gearbox combination employed for the Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, carbureted, 251.8cc engine coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The powertrain here is capable of pumping out maximum power and torque outputs of 17.7 PS and 16.5 Nm respectively. For a 250cc unit, the engine of the Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 feels quite underpowered, which actually shows on the tarmac as well, as it could have had more power on tap to make it thoroughly enjoyable on the go.
The lack of features in the Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 can be sensed in the safety department, and apart from an engine kill switch, the motorcycle doesn’t get any other noteworthy safety feature.
The tall stance and old school theme of design work a lot in favor of the Keeway Patagonian Eagle 250 to make it look desirable. The only minor letdowns here are the slightly underpowered engine and the lack of features, which could have taken the desirability quotient one notch higher.
I never like sports bike because they have a stooped riding position and pains my back. That’s why a cruiser bike is more of my liking. I love long rides in the highway and the Keeway Pentagonian Eagle 250 is my perfect companion. It has a neo-classic look. There’s the old-school analog speedometer, and a twin exhaust. The 250cc engine
