Just OK for everyday use

I bought this motorcycle from a friend of mine who originally purchased it back in 2021. He’s a very careful owner, so when I got the bike, the mileage was just over 11,000 km and to my surprise, the engine sounded really smooth. After using it daily for about 4 months commuting back and forth from Kajang to Cheras, I’d say the motorcycle is decent overall. However, the gear ratio and speed feel a bit underwhelming to me. For example: Gear 1 tops at around 10 km/h before the engine starts screaming, Gear 2 around 30 km/h, Gear 3 at 40 km/h, and Gear 4 at 60 km/h. Anything faster than that, and the engine really starts to sound unpleasant (screaming) at least to my ears. Maybe it's just me, but I find it a bit annoying. Another thing I noticed is that the carburetor is very sensitive to water. I once sent it for a full wash and requested a detailed cleaning. After that, I couldn’t start the engine it sounded weak, and every time I shifted into first gear, the engine would die. I had to push it to a nearby garage, and luckily, the mechanic found water in the carburetor. He just used an air gun to dry it out, and everything went back to normal. Some of the electronic parts also seem a bit loose not broken, just loose. For example, my fuel pipe started leaking and had to be tightened. The speedometer stopped working because the cable came loose, and the hand brake light wasn't functioning properly it just needed some readjustment. Other than those minor issues, I’d say the engine is still solid and runs very smoothly. It feels durable overall. I’ll be testing this bike on a long ride from Kajang to Penang this mid August, so that’ll be a good test of its long-distance performance.
