Yamaha FZ 150I

The Yamaha FZ150i looks all sporty and edgy, posing a macho look. The front features a  LED headlight with long handlebars, while the distinctively black colored alloy wheels add to the stylish looks of the bike. The beefed-up fuel tank features a sporty dual tone with the Yamaha emblem. It also comes with a stylish rear inner fender and a new body coloured under cowl. With the three new colours being introduced, the FZ150i looks quite appealing.

Built on a diamond frame, the Yamaha FZ150i provides a comfortable riding experience. Suspension duties rest with telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. It rides on 17-inch cast alloy wheels shod with wider tubeless tyres (90/80 front, 120/70 rear), which provides a stable ride.

The Yamaha FZ150i draws power from a 149.8 cc, four- stroke, four-valve SOHC, liquid cooled engine that pumps out a max power of 16.3 hp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 14.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a five-speed gearbox. The engine also features a fuel injection system for better mileage. As per Yamaha’s claims, the FZ150i consumes 2.6-litre of fuel every 100 km and the fuel tank can store maximum 12-litre of fuel.

Braking on the FZ150i is handled by single disc at both the front and the rear. Although the standard discs are pretty efficient in bringing the bike to a still even at high speeds, we feel that Yamaha should have introduced ABS in it. If not standard, then at least as an option. Speaking of safety, Yamaha has equipped the bike with an advanced security key lock which has a key shutter with two track key to enhance the bike’s safety.
