The only moped in Benelli’s entire lineup, the RFS 150I also is the most affordable product among all the Benelli vehicles on sale in Malaysia. With its commuter-oriented purpose, the Benelli RFS 150 takes a leaf from its other sportier siblings in its portfolio and tries to infuse that sense of sportiness in this segment of mopeds as well. The Benelli RFS 150 is available in four color options of Black with Red, Red with Black, Black with Yellow and Blue with Black.
It is easy to predict that the Benelli RFS 150 is one of the finest and most stylish products in the entire moped segment of Malaysia. The scooter, in typical Benelli fashion, has an Italian flair in its design, which goes well with the slim body design of it.
The frontal stance of the Benelli RFS 150I has got a sharp and big essence to it, thanks to the wide front apron. The headlamp is mounted in the conventional positioning on the handlebar, but its vertical layout is something which makes it look unique. However, what really catches the fancy are the daytime running LEDs on the lower center portion of the front apron, which makes the RFS 150 look very premium. The turn indicators too have nice vertical positioning on the side edges of the apron.
The side profile of the RFS 150I carries the sporty intentions of the front in a very well manner. The side body panels have a very nice Y-shaped theme, starting from the side edges of the front apron and going all the way to the rear tailpiece in a curvy fashion. The stepped theme for the single piece seat as well as the split pillion grab rails are something which the RFS 150 has got the inspiration from the more premium sport motorcycles. The long single exhaust pipe, however, looks functional. At the rear, the RFS 150 has got a very minimalist appeal, thanks to a small tailpiece and a tiny tail lamp nestled in the center.
The instrument console of the RFS 150 is easily the most modern looking unit among that of all the mopeds from other makers put together. The part digital console here consists of an analog tachometer and LCD screen for speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, and engine temperature gauge.
The Benelli RFS 150’s excellent performance is well complemented with the agile riding dynamics. The well-balanced chassis comprises of upside-down telescopic forks at the front and oil damped telescopic coil spring with single shock absorber at the rear. The suspension of the RFS150I, especially the front setup, is quite advanced in this segment, which along with the large 17-inch wheels, makes the overall handling quite sharp and precise. Even the braking setup is quite one up over its rivals, with the RFS 150 getting a 240mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear.
Under the flashy skin of the Benelli RFS150I is a rather modest powertrain, which is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 149.8cc engine. However, considering the competition, it produces the segment best performance figures – 15.6PS of maximum power and 12.8Nm of torque, which makes it equally powerful as any other 150cc sporty commuter motorcycle. The engine has been coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, which channels the power produced to the rear wheel via a chain drive.
The Benelli RFS 150 is packed with excellent mechanical hardware, however, the one aspect where it surely feels a bit lacking is the safety feature list. Except for the presence of the disc brakes at both the front and rear, the RFS 150 misses out on any other safety feature, even ABS or a combined braking setup.
As far as the overall packaging goes, the Benelli RFS 150I is one very strong product. The RFS 150 might belong to the entry-level moped category, but feels very premium thanks to its global styling, powerful engine and excellent mechanicals under the skin. Keeping aside a couple of small niggles, the Benelli RFS 150 is one go-to moped which will surely give you the premium feel over other mopeds.
Been riding the bike for more than 3 years now. Not so much issues versus my expectations. Failed O2 sensor for the 1st year and that’s the only thing. Love the riding height. For a shorter person like me, the riding height makes me feel comfortable riding in the city and outback using it as an ADV. Good adjustable spring
Bought this motorcycle back in 2017 (The first model). Of course, being non-Japanese made will make some Malaysian skeptical with the brand but fret not; it was better than my earlier expectation. Let's start with the pros; I) The starting price is just around RM7k; with that budget, the alternative you can get is 135LC or lethargic Dash/Wave. So you
Benelli entered the supercub segment with the new RFS 150i and I wanted to buy the motorcycle ever since I saw it at the showroom. I loved the test ride experience which inclined me into buying the motorcycle. The motorcycle is sleek, modern, and attractive and with the 149cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 15.5 hp of power and 13
Mopeds are great traffic busters. They are easy to handle on congested roads. The Benelli RFS 150i is an all-out looker. That black and yellow streaked color scheme looks fantastic. The styling isn’t exactly moped-like. It has an off-road appeal. But this vehicle isn’t meant for serious off-road adventures. Benelli has managed to put an aggressive look on the RFS
Benelli usually makes premium bikes that command a huge price. The RFS 150i is a commuting class moped. While it’s expensive than other vehicles in its class, Benelli has kept the styling intact. The moped looks beautiful all-round. The RFS150i has 3 spark plugs instead of one. This may be a tad expensive to maintain in the long run. But
The RFS 150i is one of the most reliable supercub in the market at this stage. I have been riding this vehicle for a good amount of time and it has proven its durability as well as reliability during all these years. The bike feels very good to handle, especially if you are riding in the city. The suspension is
I wasn’t quite sure about how a Benelli moped would perform before I actually bought it. I did have some experience with big bikes of Benelli and I know for a fact that the brand is known for its performance oriented approach. Now, when I bought this moped, I was amazed to see that Benelli has carried its trends with
I have always been fond of racing. But couldn’t afford to make it a profession. But when I came across the Benelli RFS 150i, I couldn’t resist it further and bought it for myself. The racing-inspired underbone sport moped can offer up to 15.5 hp, which is not much as per the industry standard but is good enough to satisfy
Finally after searching for long I could figure out the bike that is best suited for me. Yes I am mentioning about my all new Benelli rfs-150i. This is light in weight and is quite easy to ride option. When I saw the bike in the showroom I was quite impressed with its looks. Also the bike is amazing for
If it comes to buying a scooter in the 150 cc segment and you want the best of economy as well as power and performance, then the Benelli RFS 150i is the best option you have got in the Malaysian market. The scooter is a stylish one, with a unique design that you may not find on any other scooter
