Honda CBR650F Review 2024

The Honda CBR650 is one of the best sporty bikes to ride on the weekend. It provides the riders with all sorts of thrill. The bike comes with a powerful engine that is capable of offering great power and enough torque. The sporty design gives a premium feel at the eyes of the spectators and is pretty much attractive too.  A great pair of suspension makes sure that the convenience and comfort will be high for the rider as well as the pillion.

Honda CBR650F Design

The Honda CBR650F features a brand new sports bike design. From all the angles, the brand new design is quite stunning with the latest graphics elements. The bright and shiny LED headlamp has been given an eye-catchy shape. The new Showa suspension makes sure that riding will be comfortable at all speed levels. It features a superior control and enhances the confidence in all road conditions.

It comes with a huge fuel tank capacity of 17.3 litres. The 17-inch wheels are wrapped in 180 mm tyre for the rear, while the front wheel is wrapped in 120 mm rubber. The information console is a complete digital unit with a tacho and the speedo settled in a clean layout.

The two-wheeler is available in three colour options, that are Pearl Metalloid White, Millennium Red, and Matte Gunpowder Black.

CBR650F Ride & Handling

The Honda CBR650F is a fun-to-ride motorcycle on the track. It comes with a smooth throttle and a very linear power delivery with an abundant amount of torque on offer. However, the peak torque and the maximum power comes at a high rev-range, hence, the low-end power isn't very convincing, especially when you are at a high gear.

Speaking of the suspension, a 41 mm telescopic fork, along with a 120 mm travel is present at the front wheel. The rear features a monoshock damper with adjustable preload and a good amount of travel. Both the suspension offers a quality performance and takes the comfort and convenience to the next level.

Honda CBR650F Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Honda CBR650F features a liquid-cooled inline 4-cylinder, DOHC engine which offers a good performance while riding in the highway. The 649 cc engine is good enough at making  81.3 hp of power along with a peak torque of 63 Nm. The maximum power comes at a rev range of 11,000 rpm, while the peak torque comes at 8,000 rpm. The power is transmitted to the wheel via a six-speed manual gearbox.

The engine is quite capable of giving the rider an absolute thrill while speeding across the road.

CBR650F Braking & Safety

The Honda CBR650R comes with a dual disc brake at the front, while the rear wheel gets a single disc. The front brakes are 320 mm dual hydraulic with dual-piston callipers and sintered metal pads. The rear brake has a 240 mm hydraulic disc with a single-piston caliper and resin mold pads. Both of the brakes are quite good and make enough stopping power. The brakes are further aided by ABS (Anti-lock braking system).

Other safety features of the bike include a pass switch, an engine check warning and side reflectors.

The motorcycle has a seat height of 810mm, which means, the riders of almost all sizes are capable of placing the foot comfortably on the ground. It has a kerb weight of 214kg which is pretty decent. The riders can easily handle the bike. However, the ground clearance of 133 mm, riding on bad roads might be a risk as you may hit the underframe area.

Honda CBR650F Verdict

The Honda CBR650R is one of the best motorcycles in its segment. It is a nice, entry-level middleweight that is fun to ride. It offers all the comfort and good performance that the riders need. However, it does not lose its shape even when an entry-level rider starts riding it.

The bike comes with a price tag of around RM 44,000 and is doing a great job for the manufacturer while competing with the rivals like Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS, Yamaha XJ6 Diversion, etc.
