Modenas Dinamik Review 2024

The Dinamik is one of the many entry-level sport oriented cub class mopeds which Modenas offers in the Malaysian market. Primarily aimed at the teenagers who are new to the world of two wheeler motoring, the Dinamik promises one easy to ride and maintain package. The Modenas Dinamik is being offered in three color options – yellow, red and blue.

Modenas Dinamik Design

Going by the looks of the Dinamik, it looks like Modenas hasn’t paid much attention to the design needs of the mature set of riders. The overall design looks purely intended towards the new age riders, which in the process, looks a bit half-hearted and odd at few places.

The headlamp cowl looks a bit dated with a not-so-appealing headlight design, which also comes integrated with clear lens turn indicators. The beak-shaped front apron has a pointy end towards the center bottom, which is finished in matte black. The front apron comes with a characteristic triangular logo, which comes with chrome bordering.

The Modenas Dinamik tries to look sporty with a heavy bodywork when it comes to the side profile. The front apron extends all the way down towards the engine, which is partially covered by the latter. This side extension of the apron, along with the side body panels below the seat, is plastered with bold decals, which try to make the bike look sporty, which in actual, it isn’t. The grey finished alloy wheels look simple, as well. However, what sticks out in a very odd manner here is the single piece exhaust, which has a weird design to it. With an unusual bulge at the center which gets a separate chrome shield, the exhaust pipe here ends up in a very basic looking canister, which looks quite cheap as well.

The rear profile of the Modenas Dinamik has a very simple design to it, with a petite tail lamp assembly which comes integrated with turn signals on it. The all-analog instrument console looks even simpler, or should we say, very dated, with simple dials for speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer housed in a rounded trapezoidal housing.

Dinamik Ride & Handling

Considering its entry-level positioning, the Modenas Dinamik has been equipped with very basic mechanical components. Sitting on a pipe backbone frame, the Dinamik has telescopic forks at the front and tilted coil spring at the rear. The suspension has a sort of stiffness to its ride quality, but at the same time, it aids in making the Dinamik an easy bike to handle. What again is quite surprising is the fact that the Dinamik comes equipped with disc brakes at both the ends, which usually find their way at least in a quarter-liter motorcycle. However, the Dinamik misses out on an electric starter button and comes with just a mere kick starter.

Modenas Dinamik Engine & Fuel Consumption

The Modenas Dinamik comes fitted with the same four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 120.3cc engine which powers its other siblings like Ace 115 and 118 EFI. However, here, the engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which churns out the similar performance outputs – maximum power of 9.9PS and a peak torque output of 9.1Nm. Like in other bikes, the gearbox transfers the power to the rear wheel via a chain drive. The performance is adequate for urban riding cycle, and honestly, the engine does not require the presence of 6th gear as the engine is tuned for mild usage.

Dinamik Braking & Safety

The Modenas Dinamik, being an entry-level moped, misses out on many safety features. However, the presence of disc brakes at both the ends is one surprise addition, which does make the braking experience in emergency situations quite controlled.

Modenas Dinamik Verdict

The Modenas Dinamik might not be as dynamic as its name suggests, as being an entry-level moped, it misses out on a number of features and adorns a very basic and unappealing design. The presence of body graphics is not enough to hide the bland design which is also weird at some places. However, it does its job decently for being a basic bike meant for commuting from one place to another.
